United Kingdom How the United Kingdom Will Handle Your Complaint
The United Kingdom Office of Fair Trading appreciates hearing about your complaint. We will use the information you provide to spot new trends and help identify online businesses causing problems for consumers. However, we have no powers to intervene in your individual dispute or obtain compensation or other redress for you.

We are concerned with protecting the “collective interests” of consumers. We may, therefore, use the information you provide to help us identify business malpractice falling within the legislation we enforce on misleading advertising, unfair contract terms, distance selling, consumer credit, estate agency and persistent problem traders – this could stop other consumers suffering similar problems in the future. We may, to the extent permitted by UK law and as seems appropriate to the case, contact other enforcement bodies in the UK about the problems encountered. However, except as required by law, will not disclose your personal information to the business with whom you are in dispute or to any other UK law enforcement agencies without contacting you first to obtain your express permission.
