Mission of the Board is to ensure the high level of consumer protection in Lithuania by establishing the consumer rights’ protection system in line with European Union requirements. The Board coordinates activities related to consumer protection of other state institutions, purvey information for consumers about their rights, analyze consumer complains, undertakes control over practice of unfair terms specified in the contracts with consumers and protects consumers’ public interest, organizes and implements consumer education, consults consumers and carries out-of-court examination of consumer cases resulting from consumers disputes with sellers, producers and services providers.
Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, Civil Code, Law on Consumer Protection, Law on Product Safety, Law on Advertising, Law on Alcohol Control, Law on Tobacco Control, Law on Payments, Regulations of the Board and other bylaws.
National Consumer Rights Protection Board is the main state institution in the country responsible for implementation of consumer policy. The Board coordinates activities of 18 institutions in the field of consumer rights protection.
